The presentation held in Hyderabad (India) by dr. Biradar analyses the effects of changing climate on agriculture and proposes climate- smart practices. The stresses agriculture faces are multiple, some of which include depletion of resources such as water scarcity, soil and land degradation. Dr. Biradar emphasises the importance of location and context specifics as prerequisite for an appropriate intervention. Hence, different contexts will have different climate resilience solutions. It follows a strategy of Inclusive- Integrated Agro-Systems, which proposes to increase land and water productivity while safeguarding the environmental flows and ecosystem services. The promise of Integrated farming systems with focus on minor crops (dryland cereals and legumes) is that of better soil and water management for nutritious food for a sustainable future.en_US
