Total root proteins of control and Foc infected chickpea (JG 62 and WR 315) were extracted. Isoelectric focusing (IEF) of extracted proteins was carried out using immobilized pH gradient (IPG) strips. 2-DE gels were scanned and developed images were analyzed. Identified differentially expressed protein spots were excised from 2D-PAGE gels and then the proteins were subjected to digestion. The peptides were then analyzed on an Autoflex II MALDI TOF/TOF Analyzer and obtained mass spectra of peptide. The processed peaks were analysed and searched against the taxonomy of Viridiplantae in the MSDB database.en_US
