Abstract
This chapter reviews the information on the present status of wild gene pools, their evaluation, introgression through distance hybridization and future crossing potential, crossability barriers and means to overcome them, strategies for successful introgressions, and future prospects in the selected legume crops, including chickpea, lentil, grass pea, common bean, pigeon pea and Vigna crops.
