Multi-location testing (MLT) Network is proposed to generate data for line advancements, parental selection and hot spot screenig for biotic and abiotic stresses. MLT data driven line advancements and hot spot screenign enhances the selection efficieny which is directly porportinal to the genetic gain achieved. Moreover, hot spot screening is cost-effective. Genetic gain in breeding pipelines is also detrmined by the selection of parents for recyling, and often limited data on early generation lines limits the efficiency of selection of parent. Therfore selection of parents for hybridization based on the performance in MLTs enables data-driven selection of parents.
