Jane Ininda, Pasupuleti Janila. (15/8/2019). Crop Network Groups to further the Crop Breeding, Testing and Delivery Pipelines in Africa Final Report.
In view of the on-going collaboration between AGRA and ICRISAT, ICRISAT through the Grain Legumes and Dryland Cereals (GLDC) has awarded $123,000 to lead the crop network group meetings under the GLDC Innovation fund. Under this partnership, crops of focus are sorghum, groundnuts, cowpea and millet. AGRA is the lead in the Crop Network Groups (CNGs) and will convene and work with other partners who are: CRP-GLDC, ADVANTA, and CIRAD among others. Under this project, AGRA working with partners will convene the CNG meetings in Africa and will engage in implementation of activities that emerge from the meetings and will be responsible for the implementation of the activities in the AGRA’s focus countries; convene CNG meetings in selected AGRA focus countries, but incorporate participants drawn from non-AGRA focus countries, where the crop is relevant as presented above; and will submit with other proponents proposals to seek complimentary grants to support (a) CNG meetings and (b) activities in AGRA’s target countries.
