Ramesh Bhat, Manish K Pandey. (14/8/2019). Progress Report on Yield trial for groundnut training population for optimizing genomic selection.
During the postrainy season of 2018, the training population consisting of 340 lines was sown on 15-01-2019 at the IABT Garden of UAS, Dharwad. Since the seeds received from ICRISAT were limited in quantity, the genotypes were sown in a single replication of 2-meter length. A few lines failed to germinate, but proper care was given to surviving stands. The genotypes were observed for days to 50% flowering (DFF), plant height (PH), number of primary branches (NPB) and number of secondary branches (NSB). Data on the productivity traits such as, total pods per plant, pod weight per plant, total number of seeds per plant, total seed weight, test weight were recorded after the harvest (23-05-2019), and the data were analyzed. Data from the lines were also analyzed for distribution, skewness and kurtosis.
