Abstract
Salinity, heat, frost, and yellow rust are important constraints to winter wheat. Stress tolerant varieties of wheat and chickpea are increasing becoming available for cultivation. Wheat and mungbean varieties with suitable maturity provide opportunity to extend crop diversification. Improved varieties of wheat, barley, chickpea and mungbean are increasingly being adopted by the farmers through onfarm seed production scheme. Capacity development of more than 500 men and women farmers, researchers, seed growers, extension agents, and policy makers achieved.
