Abstract
Since 1991, Central Asian countries have undergone phases of economic transition as they consolidated
their independence. Governments have implemented fundamental adjustments and privatization schemes in the agricultural sector. Large state-owned farms, also known as 'Agricultural Cooperatives' have been transformed and fragmented into small private ownership.
