Abstract
The document provides an overview of the participatory development process utilised by CGIAR's Conservation and Use of Genetic Resources (Genebanks) initiative. It describes the preparation of a Theory of Change (ToC) framework by the Initiative Design Team (IDT) and Genebank managers during a one-week process. Insights attained during this process will be applied to the initiative and communicated to key stakeholders and funding bodies in the future. Miro, a digital whiteboard used for collaborative brainstorming, is also described and reflected upon as a tool –its benefits, limitations, and standout practical qualities. This report intends to highlight the importance of participatory methods which are thoughtfully integrated into the very structure of CGIAR initiatives, advocating for further use and application.
