The meeting was organized by the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) in collaboration with the national International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and Tunisian and Jordanian national partners, in Hammamet- Tunisia, 16-18 April 2019. The main objective of the workshop was to Develop a rangeland restoration / rehabilitation toolbox specific to the dry areas. The workshop brought together various regional and national delegates, from ministries, universities and research institutes and international organizations. Throughout the three-day workshop, presentations and discussions were held on the addressing the underlying root causes of agrosilvopastoral ecosystem degradation at the local scale and in different contexts, sustainable rangeland management practices and main representative case studies from the dry areas (MENA or WANA region).
