This study presents the success story of the adoption and diffusion of improved early maturing chickpea cultivars in Myanmar. The experience in the country, particularly exemplifies evidences that adoption of technologies significantly enhanced agricultural productivity and total welfare gains in chickpea growing regions. This ex-post impact study specifically undertaken to document the impacts of chickpea research in the country supported by ICRISAT through its research collaborations over last four decades (1976-2018). The present study is supported by ICRISAT management to bring out the evidences of crop genetic improvement impacts on small and marginal farmers in the SAT region.en_US
