Abstract
The workshop was organized jointly by FAO, GTZ, and ICARDA in collaboration with the Government of Egypt. It was convened under the auspices of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Youssef Wally, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, during the period 15 to 19 November 1997 in Fayed (Ismailia), Egypt.
The objective of the workshop was to promote ecologically informed agriculture through the adoption of participatory approaches in IPM, where farmers will be empowered with a variety of sound tactics that will allow them to implement measures that will ensure sustainable production of healthy crops without adverse effects on the environment.
