The achievements of the wild oat program of the 2000/2001 winter season are involved in the ninth annual report which includes the impact of applying wild oat control package in 79 thousand hectares which resulted in about 74 thousands of tons of wheat increased which equal 8.3 million dollars saved. The report also includes the results of conducting 110 demonstration fields for wild oat control in wheat in 10 governorates, especially in a new land. New concepts of technology transfer by the project were included as conducting 4 extension villages for wild oat managed in wheat in the new and old land, weed survey had been done in wheat fields in Giza and Dakhlia governorates were involved in the report. The leadership, coordination, planning, and execution of the programs have been the responsibility of Weed Research Control Laboratory, Agricultural Research Center, involving other scientists from various disciplines, extension agents pest control specialists, and extensionists and farmers in different governorates. This program has been implemented through three activities. Farmer-managed demonstration plots, Research-managed on-farm trials to verify new technology under farmer conditions, and Back-up Research to develop an integrated weed management system.
