Mounir Louhaichi. (19/8/2015). OFID Annual Technical Report. Enhancing Sustainability and Fodder Production of Lowland Pastures through Integrated Alley Cropping & Conservation Agriculture in Arid Agro-pastoral Ecosystems in Jordan, Yemen and Tunisia.
A two year project funded by the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) aiming at sustainable development of lowland pastures in Tunisia, Jordan, and Yemen was initiated in September 2014. The project is 100% mapped to the CGIAR Research Program on Dryland Systems (CRP DS). Its overall goal is to improve the livelihood of the agro-pastoral communities through sustainable use of integrated conservation agriculture technologies and alley cropping systems that enhance the productivity of lowlands in the arid and semi-arid rangelands. These efforts intend to provide additional feed and food for agro-pastoral production systems, while conserving and ensuring the building of resilience into the natural resources base.
