Abstract
Since 2018 and until March 2023, the Strengthening Knowledge Management (SKIM)
project has been implemented under the direct coordination of ICARDA and the financial
support of IFAD, with the aim of effectively developing long-term knowledge
management capacities in the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and Europe regions,
focusing on three target countries (Morocco, Moldova and Sudan).
Among several core activities carried out by the SKIM project, three learning Routes were
implemented, analyzing good practices and innovative solutions in knowledge
management assets, tools and approaches in the three countries.
The main objective of the three Learning Routes was to strengthen partners' institutional
capacities on key issues of interest to the programme, and to create better opportunities
for knowledge sharing among SKIM partners in order to increase the development impact
and KM strategies in their respective interventions.
In this context, PROCASUR, one of the SKIM partners, was responsible for the preparation
and implementation of the Learning Route in Sudan in November 2020. As this activity took
place in a pandemic context, it was conducted in a virtual modality through the
production and dissemination of video interviews with key local resource persons working
in IFAD-funded projects in Sudan. The other two learning Routes were organized and
implemented by ICARDA partners.
Building on the previous collaboration, PROCASUR carried out an ex-post evaluation aimed
at assessing the process of adoption and scaling up of innovative solutions in the
participants' respective organizations. In this final phase, PROCASUR also carried out an
inventory of the profile of local champions who acted as knowledge service providers in
the three Learning Routes.
This report describes the main results of this Procasur-ICARDA collaboration under SKIM
Programme and it is structured according to the following sections: the first section
presents a brief overview of the three learning routes organized under SKIM; the second
section presents the results of the ex-post assessment focusing on the process of
adoption and scaling up of innovative solutions in participants' respective organizations;
while the third and last section describes the process of identification, profiling and
creation of the on-line catalogue of local champions
