Natural Resources Forum
is running a special series over the 2007–2009 period on themes to be considered by the
United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development in its 16th and 17th sessions: Africa, agriculture, desertification,
drought, land and rural development. The Viewpoints in this issue will focus on the vulnerability of desert-prone areas.
