Abstract
Knowledge is recognized as a foundamental asset to deliver impact and ensure continuity of research for development efforts. Knowledge Management applies to all domains of knowledge, ranging from information products and publications to practical know-how and indiginous lore. Knowledge sharing with and transfer to public institutions, as well as NGOs, community-based organizations and the private sector, are a key elements to ensure effective dissemination and maintenance of knowledge, to build capacity and development effectiveness, to support long-term growth of competences contributing to improving livelihoods in low- and middle-income countries. Lessons-learned and scaling of innovative solutions for enhanced impact in agricultural development requires knowledge gaps to be identified and filled across national and international communities of practices, engaging with a long-term perspective of optimal information and institutional awareness.
