Assessing the perceptions of ecosystem services and ecological restoration activities by the local community of agricultural landscapes of northern Jordan Valley. Lebanon: International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA).
This Research for Development Brief (R4D) aimed to investigate the trade-offs and synergies between the rehabilitation of the marginal dryland ecosystem (uplands), a sustainable community-based resource management and the irrigated production system in the downstream Jordan Valley. The activities particularly addressed agrosilvopastoral approaches that contribute to rehabilitating the ecosystem functionalities and services of the largely degraded side wadis of Jordan Valley that carry surface water (runoff) towards the lowlands’ irrigated production system.
