Abstract
Our project Conservation Agriculture in Crop-Livestock systems (CLCA) aims to develop context-specific processes to promote the large-scale adoption of conservation agriculture in integrated crop-livestock systems in the drylands. Conservation agriculture (CA) or “zira3a ilhafitha” is built on a set of interlocking soils and water conservation practices. The core principles are: no or limited tillage, permanent cover, and crop rotation and diversification (legume-cereal) (Farnworth et al, 2017).
