Abstract
A training titled “Strengthening of the role of home gardens in improving food security in Fergana valley” was conducted in Kuva district Fergana Province on 6 April 2015. The goal of the training was to improve the livelihood and dietary nutrition of the rural farmers living in Fergana valley through intensive use of a land by cultivating vegetable crops. Training program included lectures on vegetable production status and problems, improved technologies dissemination on vegetable seedling production, new varieties characteristics and its’ cultivation technology, safe vegetable production, bio-pesticides, seed multiplication in home garden conditions, and non-traditional crops use for a diet diversification. Discussion was conducted during training also. The local administration emphasized the importance of conducted measures and extended thanks to training organizers.
