Abstract

Sweetpotato leaf collection for varietal identification is key for accurately understand the varietal impact at the household level. However, logistics to collect and conserve leaves can be complicated, especially in sub-Saharan African countries with poor road infrastructure and few places to keep cold the material during survey development. To overcome this problem, we developed a protocol to use locally available products together with high-quality standards for managing plant material for DNA extraction.
