The present report highlights the outcomes of the workshop organized under “Enhancing food security and climate resilience in Morocco through innovative seed systems and scaling mechanisms in the wheat-based production systems" project in collaboration with the F2R – CWANA From Fragility to Resilience in Central and West Asia and North Africa (F2R-CWANA) initiative and within the WP1 on “Innovations in partnerships, policies and platforms for the efficient, inclusive and climate resilient transformation of agrifood systems in Morocco”. The workshop gathered most of the actors in the Moroccan seed sector to address issues they all face. Issues included limited adoption of national varieties, lack of investment, and visible impacts of climate variability. The recommendations included strengthening partnerships, improving the production and certification of seeds, prioritizing climate resilient varieties, and advocating innovative approaches through digital platforms and research incentives. The most decisive action taken at this meeting is that between INRA, FNIS, and SONACOS, a collaboration agreement is signed, through which popularization activities will proceed with seeds provided by ICARDA. This is expected to contribute towards strengthening the seed systems within Morocco to pave the way for more resilient agriculture and sustainable food security within the country.en_US
