Beirut, Lebanon: International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA).
The objective of this project agreement is to inform the development ProSol project (led by DGACTA – Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources and Fisheries) on the best scaling pathways for enhanced Soil and Water Conservation practices (SWCT) through a set of research and “research for scaling” activities. The project is expected to mainstream existing conceptual and practical knowledge to support the effective implementation of the ProSol program and provide additional guidance to ACTA 2050 strategy. Specific objectives include: i) generating scientific measures and evidence on the benefits of selected SWCT; ii) co-developing and designing a practical and comprehensive scaling approach of SWCT that can fit in the PADIT structure; iii) implementing the scaling approach in the priority areas defined by the DGACTA for a selection of SWCTs promoted by the ProSol program; iv) developing an impact assessment framework compatible with the type of SWCT being implemented; and finally v) Capacity development.
