Stefanie Christmann (Director). (6/4/2020). Gain Better Yields by Protecting Pollinators - English version. Lebanon: International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) (Executive Producer).
The video shows why pollinator protection is crucial for human wellbeing and how pollinator protection using Farming with Alternative Pollinators (FAP) benefits farmers, rural communities and society in general. The documentary includes various stakeholders like farmers, extension experts, scientists and the Moroccan focal point for the Convention on Biological Diversity. FAP uses marketable habitat enhancement plants (MHEP) to attract and sustain wild pollinators and thus increase quality and quantity of many crops. MHEP also attract natural enemies and reduce pest abundance. Farmers have higher income per surface, which makes it scalable to Low Income Countries. FAP includes cross-sector policies, which are also explained.
