Abstract
The International Conference on "Promoting Community-driven Conservation and Sustainable Use of Dryland Agrobiodiversity" is being held at ICARDA's headquarters at Tel Hadya, near Aleppo, Syria, from 18 to 21 April 2005. This Conference features invited keynote speakers, and includes discussions on the optimum methodologies and strategies for effective conservation of agrobiodiversity in the drylands emanating from the implementation of the GEF-United Nations Development Program (GEF-UNDP-) funded project on "Conservation and Sustainable Use of Dryland Agrobiodiversity". The project has been implemented in Jordan, Lebanon, the Palestinian Authority, and Syria and coordinated by the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) in cooperation with the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI) and the Arab Center for Studies of The Arid Zones and Dry Areas (ACSAD). This Abstracts Book includes summaries of 123 papers and posters, which are arranged session-wise for convenience.
