Abstract
Monitoring and evaluation of sustainable land management practices to achieve land
degradation neutrality has become one of the priorities in the countries signatories of the UN
Convention to Combat Desertification.
This study aims to test the Ge OC tool, currently under development, on the combat
desertification actions in the transect Dhahar-Béni Khédache-Jeffara. It is essentially based on
bibliographic analysis, local and international expertise, and global databases, in a GIS and Web
framework.
The majority of water and soil conservation techniques as well as wind erosion control
techniques have been inventoried and characterized in some different biophysical and socioeconomic
contexts of the study area. In addition, preliminary results on the impacts of the
developments made have been obtained.
Once calibrated and validated, this tool could be a decision support tool for sustainable land
management in areas threatened by desertification
