Astragalus hamosus produces high quality forage and fixes nitrogen, which helps in maintaining productivity of rangelands. It is also one of the most important medicinal plants and is used as a diuretic, demulcent, emollient, laxative, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and in treating ulcers.
